“Taxpayers deserve to be heard and we’re disappointed that Mrs. Strayhorn wants to silence grassroots support for this bipartisan tax cut plan. Texans for Taxpayer Relief is committed to involving the public in the tax reform discussion as lawmakers work to reform public education funding, tax fairness and tax relief.
“There is growing support for this tax cut program, from homeowners to small business people to health care providers. That Mrs. Strayhorn would attempt to politicize an issue as important to Texans is unfortunate.
“Although no ad-related contributions have been deposited and no final decisions about legislative advocacy ads have been made, Texans for Taxpayer Relief is committed to following the letter of the law.
“If Mrs. Strayhorn joins the broad-based support for the Perry-Sharp tax relief plan, we would certainly consider including her in our activities.”
